I am a big fan of maps in RPG games, they help to paint the scene in the players imagination, leave no ambiguity as to where a player was when the fireball blasted the party to pieces, who was crushed when the ceiling caved in or how many skeletons were caught in the barbarians charge. While highly polished and professionally printed area maps are great, you can’t always find exactly what you need for your envisioned scene; tiles are great but tend to be pricey and fiddly to construct – finding the piece you’re looking for can slow the pace of the game. Dry erase maps have been a staple for gamers everywhere for a long while,...

Divinity: Original Sin Kicks...

I admit it, I have never played a Divinity game, I don’t even know why. I love CRPGs of all video games CRPGs are the ones I play the most. It’s not like I haven’t heard of the Divinity series either, so I apologise, I have no excuses and I’m a disgrace as a gamer, who...

Myth (tery) solved

I do love a good board game, interacting with friends or family, or both, sat around table where you can physically see each other, no need for mobile phone to talk to each other, shocking but refreshing. Plaster on a layer of fantasy and I’m positively..curious (I rarely get excited,...

There are rumours flying around the intertubes about Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford all returning as their much loved characters from the original trilogy.. Ford confirms this as ‘likely’.. Hmm not exactly the confirmation we were after, but a great indication that it could happen and is more than just a...

You may have heard of the recently successfully kickstarter funded Role-play game by Monte Cook, Numenera. Numenera is a science fantasy roleplaying game set in the far distant future. Humanity lives amid the remnants of eight great civilizations that have risen and fallen on Earth. These are the people of the Ninth World. These remnants have become known as the numenera. Player characters explore this world of mystery and danger to...
Coming of (Dragon) Age

Having played the Dragon Age:Origins game on the PC and thoroughly enjoying it, I have always been interested to see how the Tabletop RPG by Green Ronin plays, it’s an interesting world of grim determination and heroic action, a little darker than some utopian high magic systems I’ve seen of late. The boys and girls over at Geek and Sundry with their Tabletop focused video series, aptly named err TableTop, play this sword and sorcery RPG with the lead game designer, Chris Pramas, at the helm. So gather your friends, grab some dice, and get ready to enter a gripping world of heroic challenges and villainous rivals, of brave...
